Wow! World premiere 2-CD set of both complete soundtracks for Tobe Hooper remake of durable sci-fi/nightmare tale, starring Karen Black, Timothy Bottoms, Louise Fletcher. CD 1 premieres complete Christopher Young orchestral score with warm, pastorale music plus dynamic action music on display. Following is complete (and largely unused) Christopher Young electronic score featuring intense, cerebral soundscapes utilizing multiple layers of complex sound. CD 2 premieres complete synthesizer replacement score by David Storrs with abundance of other-worldly ideas utilizing somewhat more tonal vocabulary. (Highlights of Storrs score were previously available on Enigma label LP only.) Following is bonus remastered presentation of special 'collage' Young fashioned for Edel label in 1991, utilizing 5 excerpts from his synthesizer score, substantially re-worked into vivid 34-minute concert piece. Both complete Young & Storrs scores presented in dynamic stereo from original multi-track session masters vaulted at MGM!
