Varèse Sarabande and Craft Recordings have announced the first-ever vinyl release of the score composed by Academy Award winner Randy Newman to the 1998 fantasy comedy drama Pleasantville written and directed by Gary Ross and starring Tobey Maguire, Reese Witherspoon, Jeff Daniels, Joan Allen, William H. Macy, Don Knotts and J. T. Walsh.

Pleasantville (1998) was a high-concept fantasy-comedy about high-school siblings (Tobey Maguire and Reese Witherspoon) transported into an idyllic, black-and-white TV show.
In celebration of the film's 25th anniversary, Varèse Sarabande presents the first-ever vinyl release of Randy Newman's score for the film as a 2-LP set, which features an expanded program of 34 tracks, pressed on Red, White and Blue Colorblast swirl vinyl, and packaged in a gatefold jacket with original artwork by acclaimed illustrator Sim Sim.

In 1998, while their mother is away, high school-aged twin siblings David and Jennifer fight over the television, breaking the remote control.
A mysterious TV repairman suddenly arrives and, impressed by David's knowledge and love of Pleasantville, a black-and-white 1950s sitcom about the idyllic Parker family, gives him an unusual remote control before departing.
When they use it, David and Jennifer are transported into the Parkers' house, in Pleasantville's black-and-white world…..
